¡Lugar asombroso!
Buen lugar.

Traveling to the Amazon had always been a dream of mine, and finally my wife and I were ready to make it a reality. Yaku Lodge did not disappoint. From the moment we began engaging with the company, we had positive customer service and planning. The trip is not an easy one, many logistics are involved, but the staff at Yaku and Julie and Victor, answered all our questions. They handled all the pick ups and drop offs, from Iquitos and beyond. The lodge itself, is gorgeous. It is set back, on a lake off the main Amazon channel with an unbelievable view! The bungalow was spacious and clean, with a balcony and private balcony. Food was well prepared with local dishes on display daily. Staff at the lodge all came from the local village, we even got to visit their community and meet some of their children! Hiking, fishing, swimming, wild life watching, it could not be better. Our guide, Usiel, was top notch! He has helped guide for Nat Geo and the Discovery Channel. The lodge manager Jilter speared a dragon fish for our lunch and Lucho the cook made each meal special. My wife and I even learned a local Peruvian card game from the staff, since I can speak a fair bit of Spanish. We left with more memories than we can count and also a few new friends on the other side of the globe!
